sunday morning and ITS MY BIRTHDAY. Wake up in a nice band b in llandovery. Had a few last night. Breakfast and roll out of llandovery and start heading home. Wind was cross or behind me . All low intensity stuff and easierly averaged 20 mph on the relatively flat roads towatds St clears. Roads were getting busy so headed off there onto the coast road to Pendine, Amroth, Saundersfoot tenby pembroke.

Nice day. So decided to do an extra loop or two. I realised how strong the wind had become when i saw the mighty Steven Amos running back with his bike on his shoulder from Angle.

Asked him if he was ok. He just replied its quicker this way and jogged on.

Plenty of motorists still quite prepared to make a gap and a few close calls down the lanes. Had a nice chat with one of them when my knuckles had dragged down his off side wing. He comforted me by telling me ‘i’m a cyclist too and coming down these lanes is difficult.’ No mate. Killing a vunerable road user is very easy , in fact you dont have to think at all in your high speed metal cage. That conversation deteroiated quite quickly. He didnt want to listen anymore and drove off into a group of school children.

Anyway 92 miles all zone 2 with a little bit of z3 for good measure. Average speed 17.9 mph.

Monday dawned but i didnt. no swim today. difficult day in work a lot of carrying very heavy stuff up ladders. Just what i needed after the weekend. Still managed a recovery ride on the rollers. 30 mins all high cadence.

Got the start sheet for sundays 25m tt. Even with my 57.53 the other day i’m one of the slowest out of 150 riders. Who the hell are these freaks. One guy has done a 46 min ride. Mental.

tuesday back in the pool and its busy. long steady plan 2 3k. Kath was in the lane next to me and we swim to a similar standard and we always seem to go head to head in the pool. Which is good it pushes me to keep up with her and i had a good swim today.

Did an interval run in the evening. Down the beach then dune running. 5 times up,down and back of the big dune saw me reaching for the bag. Then interval session on the road home. around 400 m intervals i would say. good run, but hard. just under 8miles
