wp19b68a41_05_06NB Cycle Coaching is run by Nick Brown. He is a British Triathlon Level 1 coach and an Association of British Cycle Coaches Level 3 coach. He is also a Wattbike qualified trainer.

Nick came late to cycling, starting off as a veteran runner, graduating to triathlon, and later through injury, to cycling. Nick competes regularly in time trials from 10 miles, to 12 hour events, and has been Welsh Age Group champion over 10, 50 and 100 miles.

He has completed many of the Welsh sportives and collected gold medals in all. He has also completed the ‘Daddy’ of sportives, La Marmotte, achieving the gold medal standard and learning a lot about going up hills in the process!

His late start and self-taught background ensures that he continues to learn, and is not afraid to try new things.

Ollie Simon

level 2 Tri coach/Swimming
www.oliversimon.co.uk

_D3C0643-140x120I have loved sport since I first kicked a ball and have always wanted to be a professional sportsman, I have competed in Triathlon for the past 12 years on and off. I have a background in swimming and surf rescue up to a Welsh Standard. I started my first year at Triathlon qualifying for the World Age Groups in Perth 2000 where I came 12th in the 20-24 age group. I have competed for Wales a few times at Triathlon but never won a big race or had the chance to get sponsored. In 2010, I won the Tenby Long Course Weekend over the Ironman distance and decided 2011 would be the year to step up to the Ironman as it was coming to my home town. Ironman UK was my debut where I came 5th overall as a Pro and then 23rd overall in my local Ironman Wales – with fastest swims in both races. Local shops took an interest and gave me the push to go full-time Pro for the 2012 season. 2012 didn’t go to plan due to injury and until I get over my foot injury I am keeping my swim and bike fitness up and having a go at a few Time trials to give me some clear goals.

Katherine Roberts Devonald Brace

Profile picUpon completion of my sports science degree (2:1) I trained to be a level 3 certified personal trainer nearly 10 years ago. I am a level 2 swimming teacher and triathlon coach, both of which I have been doing for 2 years. I have also completed an MSc in health promotion/public health. Finally i am an OCN level 2 community nutritionist.

I specialise in entry level and novice triathlon coaching as well as a children and young people. However, I do also work with more experienced athletes too. My approach focuses on positive behaviour change that is motivating, empowering and client centred.

I believe Pembrokeshire is the perfect playing field for triathlon training as it offers the key ingredients; varied and challenging terrain, the sea for open water swimming and the coast path for strength improving runs!

Rhys Jordan

Level 1 Swim Coach, Level 2 Triathlon Coach* First responder first Aid

photo(1)I have played sport from the age of 8 years of age including Rugby, Athletics and Swimming and recently moved into the world of Triathlon, swimming and cycling. (I only run when I have to!!)

After watching Ironman Wales in 2011/2012 and always fancying giving Triathlon a go I decided to sign up for Ironman Wales 2013.

After working / training alongside some excellent coaches / athletes (Paul Dowey Head Coach HPK Swimming NZ, Nick Brown and Oliver Simon) it inspired me to gain accreditation to pass on the information, guidance and support they have shared with me to other budding Ironmen / Tri-athletes.

I look forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge of the course / area and supporting some top coaches and athletes at Freshwater West Beach Retreat Ironman Training Camp to help you achieve your Ironman Wales goals.

Tammy Foley

IMPROVE YOUR SPORTS PERFORMANCE
Solution Focused Hypnotherapist

http://www.tammyfoleyhypnotherapy.com/

Work out mentally to improve physical performance
Whatever your sport, at whatever level, if you are only training physically you will not reach your peak performance. All top sports men and women know that mental preparation is essential.

Taking part in any sport at a competitive level involves a great deal of physical control and mental concentration. It is now accepted that hypnosis can provide both of these.

Often our behaviour patterns and negative thought processes hold us back. Hypnotherapy can make a positive difference to the way we react by changing old patterns of behaviour to new more positive ones thus enabling us to succeed. Coaches and managers the world over are all aware that the difference between a confident athlete and one in doubt is recognisably profound. “Sportsmen can do better than they think……..when they think they can do better.” Hypnotherapy can help you to be the best you possibly can be.

  • Mental warm up
  • Focussed attention
  • Goal setting
  • Regulating stress and anxiety
  • Maximising drive, and determination
  • Increased confidence, commitment and motivation
  • Skill enhancement
  • Mental imagery
  • Mentally flow
