last thursday 15th i think it was. Got in the pool and that was all. missed a bike session .Worked till late on the pod again.

friday

Up early trying to make amends for yesterday. Rode down to the centre to do Rhys s’ early bird turbo session. Got 17 miles in getting there must’ve done 15 there then 8 miles home. Good to see Tom Clode there , escobar , lee etc. Quite a laugh and some good banter to be heard. We did 40 /20 times 5. 5 sets. Now fabulous told me it was 120 ftp followed by 100. i was pretty sure he had got that wrong. Sure it should be 110 /90. Any way for first 3 sets i held 320/330 to 260/250. Which i reckon puts my ftp higher than 275 watts. The last two it dropped .Maybe from some residual tiredness which, lets face it, is our constant companion.( it was suppposed to be 110/90)

Any way its well documented and many times mentioned by NB that you should practice everything in training. This includes ,i think this has come up before, going for a piss on the bike. Now, i didn’t know that this rule doesn’t apply when you are at turbo. It turns out as well as being a mild social faux pas the flywheel on the turbo doesn’t like it when the moisture gets into it. Thats the moisture thats left after the flywheel has distributed the rest around the room. I really couldn’t see what fabulous was complaining about. Clearly not a morning person.Grump. Apparently NB will be seething?????

Missed a run session too in the evening.Pod nearly finished had a glass of vino in the evening and slept in the pod.It is pretty cool really.

Saturday. Worked all day again. No chance of making it to the slate man .Finished at 4 .only to find out the people who were supposed to be staying in the pod tonight weren’t coming. Gutted.

Out on bike. Was a nice night and ended up getting 2 hrs in Z2/3 down the lanes at lawrenny and onto the narbeth IM route. Did a 30 min run off the bike. Which was ok . Saw rob collins in saundersfoot and had a good chat with him.Good to be spending more time on the TT bike.

Sunday Out at 8 from Saundersfoot. Another good sunny day.Got 5 hrs in .Down to fresh to feed the pigs ,angle loop then IM loop onto Pendine home via wisemans etc. Wasn’t feeling great and ended up doing 4 hrs 40 mins actually riding time. Did an hour run off the bike .To tenby, penally and back to saundersfoot. Run went ok , took a while to get into it.7 miles at 8 min 10 secs per mile.

Monday

Rude awakening.at 640. supposed to meet the boys at 630 for a sea swim. bolted out the door in wetsuit straight down to the beach in saundersfoot. Caught up with them. Pissing down rain and a storm over head, there is something a bit surreal about turning to breath and seeing forked lightening in the sky. Did one length of the beach then swam back to the harbour. One of the lads said that was 1600 metres.(roughly a mile) they were only doing it once so i carried on a did another circuit bringing it up to approx 2 miles. A seal popped its head up on the return with the boys and tried to mount johnnie jackson. He wasn’t having bar of it. Lyn was in excellent humour on his fb comment afterwards.Very funny.

Went to turbo with ollie in the evening. Was busy as the weather was poor. Was running late as always. Think it was a pyramid set. all at 100 to 110 cadence. 1 min on then 2 mins then 3 then 4 then back down. The rest got longer as the sets did but can’t remember the exact rest periods.

I’m back on and sticking to the training plan now.Great 6 weeks to go. So only a 30 min jog on tuesday night.Legs were dead so wasn’t complaining too much. Wednesday rest day. Did think about doing the 10mtt . but may do the aces one tomorrow night instead. but got this meeting at 730 which is kinda in the way
