Had a lie in today which is a very rare thing. Full breakfast, equally rare and a mooch around the house. Forecast still cac so decided against going to the daffodil. Left it till 11.45 before i ventured out on the bike for a recovery ride. 11.52 it pissed down. Instantly soaked. Was thoroughly pissed off by 10 miles , my hands ceased to function on any level that i could comprehend at 20. The ride itself however was ok. Legs felt fine but kept in z2 sometimes z1 for all of it. 2 hrs later and devoid of all feeling and sensation i got off the bike.33 miles Strong southerly wind av 15.5 mph .Did i mention driving rain?

This is where the hilarity really began. Undoing the zips on my overshoes took what seemed like an eternity…..of profanities. Came up with a few new interesting combinations too . But it didn’t go anywhere near preparing me for the attempts to undo my gilet and my first overjacket. By the time i had that off and reached the third and final zip i was beyond tears and just walked into the shower pretty much still fully clothed. One cup of coffee(i drink too much of that stuff) the wood burner is lit and i feel human…ish again. I don’t regret not doing the daffodil i f they had the same weather i did it would’ve been a miserable ride . But good on all those who turned up and made the effort.I’m sure i’ll get chewed up for not attending tomorrow at turbo
