Pembrokeshire Triathlon Camp

Sunday,Met up with 8 of the boys for a planned 100.I did 11 before i met them. Rhys,James,Shane,Tom, Gethin,Rob,Ollie(for an hour or so) and Alex The Dutch supporters club. . Was a bit nervous of how i would be but the first 10 miles went ok. Just chatting and going steady.Nice day for once. Tenby, Amroth. Things started to heat up a bit out to Pendine, lost a bottle again going down the hill. Up Brandy hill with ollie and gethin setting the pace.Headed North then on the old TOP route . Ollie headed home. Tom and Rob were first to call it a day. Stopped at Maencolhog? Where we all brought more food and drink.(i had enough soren for a week) we were really nice to the lady then we all went and had a piss on her back lawn. Now i have no idea what Rhys had been drinking but it was hard not to notice the colour of what was coming out of him. It took the render off the wall. Here’s where Shane comes in. Shane has the gift of when he’s laughing you want to laugh too even if you have no idea what he’s laughing at. Infectious. We carried on. As James decided to take us over the climb at rosebush, that was all Shane and Gethin needed to know. Left Rhys,Alex , James and Myself. Down the Gwaun Valley where Rhys seemed to have a bad patch, into Fishguard where they all did. James helped out taking turns in the front and Rhys did a few turns but i did the most. James legs had gone. We all made it to Haverfordwest . They all admitted to being flogged. I wasn’t far behind them. We took the cycle track back to neyland . where we said good bye to Alex and James. Rhys let me know he was feeling ok going over the hill to Pembroke and he finished strong. i Pootled back home and did an extra 10 for the hell of it. 126 miles. Felt ok. Hr went over 160 a few times and was regularly over 150 ,most of the time over 140. So the week off went ok
