pembrokeshire Triathlon training camp

Monday ,skipped the pool. Was heading out for a slow recovery ride but it started raining again and i just couldn’t face it. So headed to NB gym for turbo. It was 15 times 1 min at 130 per cent ftp. 1min on 1 min off. basically another Vo2 max session. Not a chance . Just wasn’t hitting my numbers .was only getting 340 watts and by set 6 i was down to 300 . Gave it away and pedaled out the hour whilst the other suffered. Fabulous made a few noises that i’ve never heard come from a human before. He does work hard.bless. Nb was in a bad way too after his crash.Ribs still sore.

Anyway Fabulous ,for whatever reason , took it upon himself to find yesterdays race day photos and put them up on Nb face book page. I was hoping to get away with wearing the NB speed suit for a second time. Not a prayer thanks to fabs pesky meddling. That cost me a tenner and fab plummetted to a new low in my estimations.

Kieron Davies , love him. FB me to say sorry for not recognising me on sunday after sundays race report. I made that bit up. In fact ,nearly all of this is a a complete fabrication. All of it.Its not even me !

Tuesday, back in the pool for long steady plan 2 .3k Felt ok surprisingly and had a good swim. Difficult day at work on caldey. Really didn’t feel like running. Thought i had over cooked it with the two bike sessions in a row and figured have tonight off and run tomorrow(wed). Had that argument u have in your head then headed out. Had, what felt like a mediocre run at tempo pace. Got back. 7 miles in 50 mins, 10k time 45 mins average 7 mins 17 secs per mile. Go figure. Best 10k training run i’ve done. Mind and body are tricky little buggers always pretending to be tired. Difficult to judge eh?

Had another good session in the pool this morning random session 2 2.4 k. Hugh ‘terry nutkins’ day was in the pool and tearing up a lane . Gambos happy go lucky smiling face was there too. He told me hughs nickname was ‘nutkins’ as i can never remember which one is hugh and which one is stu. Then he dutifully informed me after i had called hugh ‘nutkins’ and got a bit of a cold shoulder. That that nickname only gambo uses for hugh and hugh likes it not one bit. Way to go Gambo.

Apparently Emma has given up .Which is a shame. Hopefully she will bounce back.
